So I am new to this blog thing, but boy am I addicted. If only I could get some followers. Lol
I can't seem to get enough of reading everyone's blogs. My 'Quilting Blogs' folder in my favorites is rapidly growing. I even click on my favorite ones and then open in a new tab their favs. I know there are thousands out there and I seem to need to read them all. Like I said, I can't get enough. I think part of it is that it takes me into another world. One away from the mess in my house, the chores that need to be done and brings me into a world that wish I was in. One that is full of fun, creativity and time for me! Only me! Kind of selfish I know, but being a mom of three means my family always comes first and thus there rarely is time for me. A girl can dream cant she? I think that is why I am loving Pinterest too. Oh so addicting, and I love it! Maybe when school starts I will be able to get some things done for me. And have a loads of fun with my little girl, just me and her. That should be fun! Shopping, tea parties and more!
And maybe a little time for me...quilting, scrappin', maybe even some other fun things. We shall see.

Sick
Boy, this last week has been aweful. I was sick in bed for most of it. Thank goodness Eric was home to take care of the kiddos, but wish he was able to have more fun on his vacation.
So I promised pictures of the finished quilt. So here they are...
I had sooo much fun making this quilt. And watching Miss Ella check out all the colors made it all worth the time it took. Her mom still can't believe I gave her my first quilt ever, but I truely feel ok about it. I know it will be cherished forever.
On to my next project...my second son's quilt. I can't wait to get it started. But first I must get caught up on all the things around this house that have gone the wayside... Oiy. That will be a project in and of itself. Oh the life of a stay-at-home mom!

Finished and on with the next!
So I have finished my first quilt. If only I haven't been sick for 5 days and stuck in bed, I would have a picture for you and would have given it to the sweetest little girl and her parents already.
My next project with be a quilt for one of my boys. I can't wait to feel better so that I can get some things caught up around the house and start my next project.
Pictures to come soon.

How it all began
Wow, where do I start? I found blogs when googling questions about quilting. Now I am in love, maybe some would say addicted. I have even found pinterest...love it! There are some amazing quilters out there and I am excited that they are so kind to share their love for what they do. I follow some and hopefully will get some to follow me someday. Thank you for all your inspirations!
So here I am...with my own blog, to talk about my quilts (ok, I admit, I only have one - so far), my scrappin', and maybe even a little more.
Back to the quilt. Finished the binding on Sunday and have to sign it still. I think I am going to embroider that. I actually found the rotary cutting fairly easy. I was to afraid to cut more than one layer at a time but I am sure that will come. Piecing it together was a cinch. I love sewing on my new machine that I bought myself on Black Friday. Even found the sewing more satisfying than my scrapbooking because I could see much more progress then I am use to seeing. The rest is when I got scared, and had to google all sorts of questions. Finally got the nerve to tackle it, and the time when Eric (that's the hubby) could watch the kiddos. Made a few mistakes, and learned a lot along the way, but made it through.
So, wanna see it? Here it is...
This is my first block ever... I was so excited.
And here is the rest of them...
I couldn't believe that I had to go and cut them all into triangles after. But I did...and it wasn't all that bad.
The quilt sandwich however, well that was intimidating. But I figured it out. Love spray adhesive by the way! But forgot to take pictures. Then I went back and forth with how to quilt it, meander or straight lines. And after days of debating with myself, Eric suggested I just do straight lines to make it easier for myself. He was so right.
So there is it...my first quilting project. As soon as I sign it I will post pics of the finished quilt. And maybe even a picture of the beautiful little girl it is for (as long as it is ok with her Mom and Dad).
